0 VLC for Android beta hits Google Play store

The beta version of VLC media player has finally landed in the Google Play store. The VLC for Android app, also being known as Neon, supports select Android devices that are powered by ARMv7 CPUs – which means some entry-level Android phones may be left out. According to reports, the VideoLAN Organization will be rolling out more variants to support other devices.

0 Facebook blames API bug for change in default e-mail addresses

Facebook had recently come under severe fire for changing the default email addresses of its users to the one with a @facebook.com suffix. According to reports, the problem may have spread to mobile users as well. Reports said users with address books synced to mobile devices unknowingly had all their synced contacts overwritten. The social networking company, however, has said it was working to fix a bug within the Application Programming Interface (API) that was pulling the last e-mail address mentioned in the account, instead of the primary e-mail addresses.

Micromax has announced another Android-based budget smartphone called the Superfone Ninja 2 A56. The new Micromax smartphone is said to be an improved version of its Superfone Ninja A50, which was launched in April this year. Micromax has not yet revealed the official launch date, but it has disclosed the specifications and pricing.

For the past few months, Mozilla has been working hard on their HTML5 and open web standards-based mobile operating system.
First announced back in July 2011 as the Boot to Gecko project, Mozilla demoed the operating system at MWC 2012, and detailed plans for an app store.
