                                 'Swipe Tab All-in-One' dual-SIM Android tablet launched for Rs. 11,999
Swipe Telecom has announced the launch of a dual-SIM tablet called, Swipe Tab All-in-One. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the Swipe Tab All-in-One runs Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is powered by a 1.5 GHz processor.


The Swipe Tab All-in-One has a 7-inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen with 5-point multi-touch and a resolution of 1028x768 pixels. The device comes with 2MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera. The slate has 8GB of built-in storage and 32GB microSD card slot.

0 Microsoft announces Surface RT pricing, starts pre-orders

The crew up at Redmond made a slight fumble yesterday, making the pre-order page for the homegrown tablet dubbed “Surface” live. We’re not sure whether it was intentional or accidental, but what we do know is that the link was pulled quite promptly and a few hours later, Microsoft officially announced that they were taking pre-orders for the new tablet through their site. Currently, the pre-orders are only being accepted for the Windows RT tablets.


The chic slab of magnesium and Corning Gorilla Glass comes essentially in two configurations; 32GB and 64GB. When Surface was originally announced, many analysts and industry experts said that the pricing on these Windows RT tablets would be around $300-400 in order to help Microsoft cut its way into the tablet market.

0 India once again tops the list of spam-relaying nations

According to a new report from cyber-security firm Sophos, India has once again been rated as the top spam relaying country in the world, ahead of the U.S., Italy and Saudi Arabia. According to the report, one out of six junk messages that floods users' e-mail inboxes originate from India.


Sophos' third quarter 'Dirty Dozen' report on spam relaying nations discovered that the percentage of global spam originating from India has grown in the third-quarter in a row, and now totals more than 16 percent of all junk e-mails. In the last quarter, India accounted for an 11.4 percent of the total world spam.

Under the new plan – first spotted by Plugged.in – users have to visit m.facebook.com/tt and register for the free talktime. Users can also refer others to join Facebook and get the same Rs. 50 talktime benefit if they sign up.

0 Huawei and Airtel unveil India's first 4G smartphone

Bharti Airtel and Huawei have teamed up to unveil what they call India's first LTE TD (4G) smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE. The price of the device has not been yet revealed but speculations are it will be around Rs. 30,000.


The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE supports 4G high speed wireless data on the LTE network and voice calls on the 3G network using Circuit Switched Voice Fall Back (CSFB voice) technology. The smartphone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

0 Yahoo hires Google exec Henrique de Castro as COO

Henrique de Castro, who worked at Google as the vice president of Partner Business Solutions Group, is now a part of Yahoo, where as chief operating officer, he will be tasked with managing global sales, operations, media and business development. Former Google executive, and now the CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer said: “Henrique is an incredibly accomplished and rigorous business leader, and I'm personally excited to have him join Yahoo!'s strong leadership team.”


De Castro will be eligible for $58 million total compensation package, according to an SEC filing by Yahoo on Monday. He would receive $600,000 in annual base salary as well as a $36 million in restricted stock units and stock options as a one-time retention award, along with his compensation package.

Following the introduction of 'Search Plus Your World' that integrated social results into Google Search, Google is now testing the customised search feature for Gmail users, who can now search across a range of Google products from a single search box.


In Gmail, as you begin to type into the search box, you'll instantly start seeing relevant emails from Gmail as well as results from Google Drive, Google Calendar, and more. "When you're looking for something, you should be able to find what you need quickly and easily without needing to think about where it might be, whether it's in your email or out on the public web," Google software engineer, Bram Moolenaar, said in a blog post on Monday.

0 Google working on built-in malware scanner for Android devices

A string file in the latest Google Play store update's Android application package hints that the store may come with a built-in malware scanner in the near future.


According to Android Police, the string file has mentions of an “App Check”, along with various menu popups such as “Allow Google to check all apps installed to this device for harmful behavior?" and "Installing this app may harm your device." As a result, it is rumoured that Android devices will be soon have the ability to check out apps before installing, or users get a warning if there's anything suspicious. Android Police speculates the new feature is related to Google's recent takeover of Virus Total.
