0 Facebook updates and renames its iOS camera app

Amid reports of Facebook and Apple strengthening their partnership, the social networking website has updated its standalone iOS camera app to version 1.0.2 . The update brings in a new screen name for the app which involves inclusion of a bullet point. Apart from new name, the update is said to bring more reliable uploads.

Facebook recently triggered a worldwide debate whether the social network should allow the children under 13 years of age to join the network. Critics are of the view that the preteens should not be exposed to the Internet, especially when cases of cyber-bullying, pornography and trolling are on the rise. Also, they believe that if Facebook allows under-13s to join, it will help the social networking company to find more devious ways to make money from kids, or from their parents.

Sony has expanded its Xperia portfolio with the unveiling of the new Xperia Miro. Running on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the Sony Xperia Miro is said to have deeper Facebook integration.
Sony had been teasing the new Xperia smartphone on its Facebook page for last few days. The company had put up a countdown clock with a fast forward button. When clicked, the clock took a few seconds off the time remaining, and once it hit zero – a new Xperia handset was to be unveiled.

Sony India today announced the launch of two new laptops in India, the Sony Vaio E14A, and the Sony Vaio T ultrabook. It will be launching other models in the Sony Vaio E, S & Z series in the near future as well, and apparently intends to sell 6.5 lakh Vaio units by FYE 2012.

It was almost a year ago when Ren Ng announced the fruits of his PhD thesis, a camera that could refocus images after they had been shot. Initially scoffed at, the idea picked up favor with techies once a working prototype was demoed. Lytro finally made their Light Field Cameras available for purchase in the American borders sometime in early March, with no word on price or availability for the Indian consumers.

1 Nokia 808 PureView launched, hits shelves today

Nokia has finally launched the 808 PureView in India, giving it an MOP of Rs. 33,899. The new 41MP camera phone will supposedly be available on shelves from today itself, starting with Nokia Priority stores.


The Nokia 808 PureView was introduced back atMWC 2012, and was one of the highlights of the event, being the first cameraphone to boast of such a massive sensor (1/1.2-inch with ND filter).

Since its launch, a few unfortunate owners of the HTC One X have complained of Wi-Fi and or display issues, and while a software update has fixed most of the connectivity problems, some users still report a Wi-Fi death grip issue.
Similar to the iPhone 4’s infamous voice and datadeath grip issue, the alleged issue affecting certain HTC One X devices is documented on XDA Developer’s site,  as the 'HTC One X Wi-Fi antenna loose connection fault', with model numbers HT23 and HT24 the most common identified problem-dealing handsets.

Amkette has launched what it is calling a ‘Smart TV box’ in India, an Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based thin client called EvoTV, which has access to the Google Play store. It has been priced at Rs. 12,995, but has an approximate MOP of Rs. 10,000.

Twitter users will be soon have the option to tailor the micro-blogging site's trending topics to display only most relevant subjects, which will be based on their location and who they follow. The customised trends option is coming to both its web apps and mobile apps.
