Password protection is a big issue in the growing technology age, but how do you ensure that you are building a code that will work overtime to keep out hackers?


PasswordGenie this week released an infographic displaying characteristics of weak and common passwords, and offering a few tips on how to keep your data safe.(see Password Genie's full infographic below.)
With so many websites to sign into and too many passwords to remember, most people try to ease the process by using the same code, or simply typing a series of consecutive numbers or letters. But, as PasswordGenie points out, "hackers feast on such lax security measures and can obtain your information much easier than you might think."

0 Microsoft invite hints Windows Phone 8 launch on October 29

Microsoft has sent out a bunch of invites for an event scheduled to be held in San Francisco on October 29. It is being speculated that Microsoft will officially unveil Windows Phone 8 OS at the event, less than a week after the company officially releases the much-awaited Windows 8 at an event in New York on October 26.


The invite does not reveal a lot of information as it's not really an invite so much as it is a Save The Date. The event, slated to start at 10:00 PST (18:00 BST) in San Francisco, will be having more details about where consumers can get their phones running the company's next-gen mobile OS.

0 Sony Xperia Tablet S sales halted over water resistance issue

Sony has temporarily stopped sales of its newly launched Xperia Tablet S in Japan and other countries. The company has reportedly discovered an issue with the device's water-resistance capabilities.


According to a Reuters report, Sony found gaps between the screen and the case that made the device vulnerable to water damages. Sony spokesperson Noriko Shoji says the problem is because of a manufacturing flaw at the Chinese plant where the device is fabricated. Sony further said it hasn't yet decided when the sales of the device would resume.

With an objective to tap the rapidly growing budget tablet market of India, Hong Kong-based tablet PC maker Eken Electronics has launched its Android-based slates in the country. Eken will be selling its tablets under the brand name of 'Eken Leopard' with price ranging between Rs. 6,900 – Rs. 11,999


Eken Electronics has teamed up with Kerala-based Aldous Glare Trade & Exports (AGTE), which will be distributing the entire range of the Eken tablets in the country. The company is hoping to sell as many as 10,000 units a month by December this year. Eken will be specially focussing on schools and educational institutions in India.

Intex has launched a new Android-based tablet called 'I Buddy 7.2'. Intex's new slate runs on Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, supports the latest Adobe Flash Player 11 and is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 core A13 processor. The Intex I Buddy 7.2 is available via online shopping website Snapdeal at Rs. 5,490.


Intex's I Buddy 7.2 features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen (5-point touch) with 800 X 480 pixels resolution. It has 512 MB of RAM. Other specifications of the Buddy 7.2 include 0.3MP front facing camera, 4GB internal storage, expandable storage up to 32GB, and a 2,800 mAh battery. For connectivity, the Intex I Buddy 7.2 supports 3G via dongle, Wi-Fi and USB.
