Apple confirms new iMac will hit shelves November 30, reveals pricingApple has announced that the new iMac will hit shelves on November 30, 2012, just a couple of days away.

The new Apple iMac  is just 5mm at its thinnest, and does away with the optical drive. The chassis is a combination of aluminum and glass enclosure. Apple claims that the display package has been redone to reduce ambient lighting reflections by up to 75%.

The refreshed iMac also includes third generation quad-core Intel Core i5 processors that can be upgraded to Core i7, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, and the latest generation Nvidia GeForce graphics processors that according to Apple deliver up to 60 percent faster performance. A new implementation, Fusion Drive, is an innovative new storage option that gives customers the performance of flash and the capacity of a hard drive by combining 128GB of flash with a standard hard drive to create a single storage volume that intelligently manages files to optimize read and write performance.

0 Aakash 2 to be presented at United Nations

Aakash 2 to be presented at United Nations tomorrowAccording to a report by the Economic Times, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs will be showcasing the Aakash 2 tablet at the United Nations headquarters, in spite of the controversy surrounding the device’s provenance.

India’s UN Mission in New York would be making a presentation to the United Nations assembly, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. The mission may also distribute the tablets to the member states. The ET report quotes MEA’s Joint Secretary Syed Akbaruddin, in response to whether the presentation would still go forward in light of recent ‘Made in China’ reports about the Aakash 2:

"The decision to unveil the Aakash 2 at the United Nations (during India's Presidency of the UNSC) was taken after it was confirmed that the device would be formally unveiled by the Hon'ble President of India on November 11, 2012. Hence it will go ahead.
