Sony's dual-core powered smartphone, Xperia P, is now available for
pre-order in India via the online retailer Infibeam. Priced at Rs.
25,500. the device is scheduled to release on May 26th.
The Xperia P, which was unveiled at the MWC event
earlier this year, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system
(upgradeable to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, planned in Q2
2012). The device is powered by a 1 GHz U8500 dual-core processor. It
has 1GB of RAM, while the internal phone storage is 16GB (up to 13GB
user-accessible). The device does not have a microSD card slot.
The Sony Xperia P has a 4-inch display
with 540x960 pixel resolution, a 1080p HD-capable 8MP camera with
auto-focus and LED flash, front-facing VGA camera, NFC connectivity,
stereo FM radio, and a 1,305 mAh battery with 475 hours of standby time,
6 hours talk-time, and 80 hours of music play.
he device comes pre-loaded with a range
of Google applications including Google Voice Search, Google Talk with
video chat, and Google Maps with Street View and Latitude.
It may be recalled that Sony's other
two latest Xperia smartphones, Xperia U and Xperia Sola, are already up
for pre-order in India via various online retailers. The Xperia U,
sporting Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 1GHz dual-core processor and 5MP
camera, is priced at Rs. 16,499.
Also, the Xperia Sola, featuring floating touch display, 1GHz dual-core
U8500 processor and 5MP camera, is available for Rs. 19,999.
