Google I/O 2013 starts May 15 2013Google has just announced the dates for its annual I/O event. The event kicks off on May 15th 2013 and ends on May 17th 2013. As of now, registrations aren’t open. They are expected to open in early 2013. The event will take place in Moscone Center in San Francisco.



No details are known as to what Google will show at the I/O event in 2013. Speculations are high that we may just see the next iteration of Android, 5.0 KLP (Key Lime Pie) make an appearance at the event.

At Google I/O 2012, Google showed off Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Nexus 7 tablet and the nexus Q music streamer. Google also had quite a dramatic stage show with Project Glasses.

Wickedleak has launched the Wammy Sensation, an Android 4.0 ICS based smartphone for Rs. 16,000.It boasts of dual-SIM capabilities 2G GSM 800/850/1800/1900MHz and 3G:WCDMA 850/2100MHz. It has a MTK 65771.2GHz Cortex A9 dual-core + SGX531 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It has 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.



The 4.7-inch touch Screen has an IPS panel with a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The front of the smartphone has a 3MP camera for video calls and the rear houses a 12MP camera with Panoramic Shot 260 Degree. The Wammy Sensation has a 2,000mAh battery. The device seems to be quite slim at 8.6mm and is also quite light at 145gms.

Nokia has just announced its latest addition to the Windows Phone 8 lineup, the Lumia 620. The Lumia 620 is the third phone in the WP8 lineup, and will cost customers $249 in the US, off contract.


Nokia's Lumia 620 is a 3.8-inch handset with a ClearBlack WVGA display powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB of RAM and a 5MP camera. Nokia has also conveniently added a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of storage.

In partnership with Cisco, acclaimed creative personalities Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman today launched a new social networking platform called Qyuki. First announced in February this year, the social networking concept has finally come to fruition and aims to provide a collaborative platform that will enable a dynamic creative community.

Qyuki aims to differentiate itself as a social media community built around the desire to create - “a community for the right-brains of india to collaborate,” as Mr. Shekhar Kapur puts it in a nine-city Telepresence Interconnect organised by Cisco today. The website which is presently live, seems at first glance, to be an interesting mashup between Pinterest and Deviantart but with an India focus.


The founders plan to not just concentrate on urban India, but also reach the so far untapped creative talents from villages and grassroots India. Since a large section of these users come online via mobile devices, Qyuki has planned a mobile strategy which includes apps on various platforms and the soon to be launched mobile website – m.qyuki.com.

Apple confirms new iMac will hit shelves November 30, reveals pricingApple has announced that the new iMac will hit shelves on November 30, 2012, just a couple of days away.

The new Apple iMac  is just 5mm at its thinnest, and does away with the optical drive. The chassis is a combination of aluminum and glass enclosure. Apple claims that the display package has been redone to reduce ambient lighting reflections by up to 75%.

The refreshed iMac also includes third generation quad-core Intel Core i5 processors that can be upgraded to Core i7, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, and the latest generation Nvidia GeForce graphics processors that according to Apple deliver up to 60 percent faster performance. A new implementation, Fusion Drive, is an innovative new storage option that gives customers the performance of flash and the capacity of a hard drive by combining 128GB of flash with a standard hard drive to create a single storage volume that intelligently manages files to optimize read and write performance.

0 Aakash 2 to be presented at United Nations

Aakash 2 to be presented at United Nations tomorrowAccording to a report by the Economic Times, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs will be showcasing the Aakash 2 tablet at the United Nations headquarters, in spite of the controversy surrounding the device’s provenance.

India’s UN Mission in New York would be making a presentation to the United Nations assembly, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. The mission may also distribute the tablets to the member states. The ET report quotes MEA’s Joint Secretary Syed Akbaruddin, in response to whether the presentation would still go forward in light of recent ‘Made in China’ reports about the Aakash 2:

"The decision to unveil the Aakash 2 at the United Nations (during India's Presidency of the UNSC) was taken after it was confirmed that the device would be formally unveiled by the Hon'ble President of India on November 11, 2012. Hence it will go ahead.

Zynga and Facebook are the latest on the hit-list of the hacktivist group, Anonymous, which has threatened to shut down the two websites in a bid to oppose the gaming giant's decision to layoff 5 percent of its workforce.


A member of the group, donning the trademark Guy Fawkes mask, in a YouTube video said Anonymous was targeting the San Francisco-based company because of “the outrageous treatment of their employees and their actions against many developers”. The hacker group criticised Zynga for laying off its employees in spite of having “billion dollars cash”.
Anonymous further warned of releasing games stolen from Zynga's server, as well as taking down both Facebook and Zynga on November 5 (Guy Fawkes Day).
