After record-breaking success with popular Angry Birds series, Rovio is
all set to launch its next major game – Amazing Alex. The new game,
likely to be launched in couple of months, is a Rube-Goldbergesque
physics puzzler based on Casey's Contraption game, recently acquired by
the Finnish developer.
Casey's Contraption is another physics-based game for iOS. According to Rovio
CEO Mikael Hed, the game will feature educational elements and will
focus on the main character Alex, who is a “curious young boy who likes
to build things”. According to The Next Web, the company has already
registered amazingalex.com domain.

Hed also acknowledged that the “quality pressure is high” and that the company is working to “maintain the high standard Angry Birds fans have enjoyed so far”. He was referring to the massive success of the Angry Birds franchise, which notched up 648 million downloads in 2011.
Rovio’s VP of franchise development
Ville Heijari added that the “gameplay is a perfect fit in our arsenal
with its approachable, fun and highly addictive take on the physics
puzzler genre”. “We are currently reworking the title to enhance it, and
getting ready to re-introduce it in a true ‘expect the unexpected’
Rovio style launch to an even larger audience.”
